Viewers are being given the chance to go behind the scenes of the casting world to witness real people being cast for real jobs in iTV’s highly anticipated show, The Big Audition. Launching on October 5th at 9:00pm GST, the six part series will feature Ideal World, one of the UK’s largest TV shopping channels.
In the first episode, the search to find a new TV fitness guest presenter is a challenge for the Ideal World casting panel composed of Fran Busby; Managing Director, Andy Hodgson; Head of TV and Peter Simon; TV Presenter.
Fran said ‘We were looking for a guest presenter who was both warm, fun and engaging whilst at the same time knew the products inside out and were able to sell it to the viewers – not an easy task!’ Fran further explained, ‘There are very few people that are able to do all of this with a smile on their face, hence why we were more than happy to be part of the new show in the hopes of finding a new talent.’
The first episode welcomes seasoned professionals as well as first-timers as they make their way into the audition studio where they will be greeted by the panel and prompted by expert fitness presenter Mike Mason. ‘My role was to put all of the candidates through their paces and get them to demonstrate each fitness product.’ Mike explained, ‘All of the candidates were wonderful but not all of them were suitable for the job. Each had their own individual personality which made the whole process great fun.’
Each candidate brings their own individual audition style featuring a heart-warming, funny and touching backstory. The Ideal World panel take us through what it’s really like to be in front of the camera, with live fitness demonstrations and the added pressure making the sale. Viewers can expect highs and lows along the way, but who will have what it takes to land the ideal job?
